SPRINGVILLE, Tennessee — With heavy hearts, the family and community of Caleb D. Moore mourn his passing after a long and difficult search that ended in tragedy. Caleb, 35, was found on March 15, 2026, on his property along Highway 69 South, nearly three months after he was first reported missing.
Caleb’s disappearance was first noted on December 29, 2025, when family members became concerned after weeks without contact. Those close to him shared that it was unlike Caleb to go silent, as he typically stayed in touch and maintained familiar routines. As days turned into weeks, worry grew, especially as loved ones reflected on changes in his mood prior to his disappearance.
Local authorities, including the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, conducted extensive searches in the surrounding area, following leads and canvassing the community. Despite their efforts, it was ultimately a volunteer search organized by family members on March 13 that led to a breakthrough. With the assistance of trained search dogs, teams were guided to an abandoned well on Caleb’s property.
Due to the dangerous and confined nature of the site, crews used heavy equipment to carefully reach the bottom. Fire and rescue teams worked alongside law enforcement for several days before recovering remains. On March 17, 2026, officials confirmed through DNA testing that the remains were Caleb’s. The cause of death has not yet been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Caleb is remembered as a quiet, kind-hearted individual who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Neighbors and friends recall his steady presence and thoughtful nature, often taking time to check in or offer support. During the search, community members came together in remarkable ways, organizing vigils, sharing information, and standing by the Moore family with unwavering support.
While the outcome is heartbreaking, the discovery has brought some measure of closure to those who loved him. His family continues to grieve this profound loss while seeking answers about the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Moore family has expressed deep gratitude to the volunteers, search teams, and community members who dedicated their time and effort during the search. Caleb’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
