Residents of Rusk County, Texas, were met with tragic news after 38-year-old Amanda Thompson was found deceased in her home on the evening of March 19. The discovery was made during a welfare check conducted by deputies at her residence on County Road 3122 in the Brachfield area near Minden.
According to Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez, authorities responded after concerns were raised about Thompson’s well-being. Later that night, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Arkansas State Police, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service, located and apprehended the suspect in Russellville, Arkansas. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Pope County Jail, where he faces a murder charge and awaits extradition to Texas.
