Peter Cameron Connell, Obituary Oakey QLD, Death: Beloved Resident Has Died

It is with deep sorrow that the passing of Peter Cameron Connell, a valued member of the Oakey community and the Oakey Bears Senior Rugby League Football Club, has been announced.

Mr. Connell made significant contributions to the club both as a player and a coach, leaving a lasting impact on its development and success. He was part of a notable era in the club’s history, contributing to premiership victories in 1975, 1977, 1979, and 1980. His dedication and leadership were instrumental during these successful years.

Beyond his achievements on the field, Mr. Connell was known for his commitment to the club and his strong connections within the local community. He actively supported and mentored fellow players and remained involved in club activities beyond his playing career.

The Oakey Bears Senior Rugby League Football Club has extended its heartfelt condolences to his daughters, Brooke and Amanda, as well as to his family and friends during this difficult time.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Australian Heritage Funerals, located at 314 James Street, Harristown. Members of the club, both past and present, along with community members, are invited to attend and honor his memory.
