Sheridan Gorman, an 18-year-old freshman at Loyola University Chicago, died following a fatal shooting in the early hours of March 19 in Chicago. At approximately 1:30 a.m., Gorman was walking with friends near the lakefront in the Rogers Park neighborhood when an unidentified gunman opened fire, striking her in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred near West Pratt Boulevard and Sheridan Road, close to Tobey Prinz Beach. According to reports, the suspect, described as a man dressed in black with his face covered, approached the group on foot and discharged a firearm. No other individuals were injured. Gorman’s friends fled to safety during the attack and later returned to find her unresponsive.
