It is with deep sadness that the passing of John R. Clark, Jr., founder of Clark Sales, has been announced. A resident of Appalachia, Virginia, Mr. Clark established the company in 1991 and played a pivotal role in its growth and success for more than three decades before retiring in 2024.
Throughout his career, Mr. Clark was known for his strong leadership, dedication, and commitment to building lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, and business partners. His leadership style emphasized collaboration, expertise, and perseverance, helping to shape the company’s enduring reputation and workplace culture.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Clark was actively involved in charitable efforts, particularly in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, March 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gilliam Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. Burial arrangements have not yet been finalized. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
